men posing as women in sex chat rooms and other deceptions

On the one hand, if the person you're chatting with shares the same fantasy as you and s/he is holding up her/his end of the chat, what difference does it make if it's a man, woman or artificial intelligence machine? (The Turing test is the name given to a test where the person administering the test is supposed to distinguish between a human and a computer by asking questions and receiving written responses.)

On the other hand, it sucks to think you have some basis for connection and then to find out you've been played. See more and a couple tricks for detecting fakers and posers, below the break.

Of course, the people who want honesty are usually omitting some facts too. Kirsty MacColl does a nice job of illustrating this in "England 2 Colombia 0". After spending a few verses ragging on the guy for

You lied about your status
You lied about your life
You never mentioned your three children
And the fact you have a wife

She goes on to acknowledge defensively,

I can never possess the object of my desire
Cause he's bound to turn out to be a serial liar
OK I didn't mention my kids, I thought I'd wait a bit
But I am free and single and he's a lying git

If you're looking for honesty, you're in the wrong place in an anonymous chat room.

However, there a very practical problem with having cybersex with a guy posing as a female.

Guys are prone to ending the chat after achieving orgasm. I suppose women do this when they make the judgment the person on the other end sucks or is just a bad fit. But that tends to happen earlier in the chat session.

How to prevent the problem?

I don't have the problem much because most of my chat sessions incorporate a significant amount of personal history. It's significant work to make-up a backstory and stay in character. And, as they teach in sales, just spending time on the phone with the prospect builds the amount s/he is invested in the relationship.

I did learn from one woman, and the problem of guys posing as women affects women who want to have lesbian cybersex or just chat, that she had two stock questions for determining if a chatter was a guy posing as a woman. She would ask for the name of the piece of equipment used for gynecological exams and ask the "woman" for her underwear size (scroll down to "Women's Panty Size Chat").
